Our system of justice is based upon an independent, fair and competent judiciary that will interpret and apply the laws that govern us. A judge is an arbiter of facts and laws and is charged with the resolution of disputes. Pamela Reaves-Harris has been licensed to practice law for 20 years and has served the public the majority of that time in a judicial capacity. Pamela has rendered hundreds, if not thousands, of decisions that affect the quality of life for Chicago's citizens as well as its surrounding suburbs. While serving in a judicial capacity Pamela has developed the temperament, experience, knowledge and common sense required to serve as Circuit Court Judge. As a Circuit Court Judge Pamela will respect and honor the judicial office while striving to enhance and maintain the confidence of our legal system.

Biography Pamela is the youngest of eight children born to Henry Calvin Reaves and Ruby Hampton Reaves. Raised in Chicago's Cabrini Green Housing Development Pamela attended Cooley Vocation High School and understood that if she were going to succeed it would require hard work and commitment. Pamela attended the University of Illinois At Chicago, graduating in 1981, earning a B.S. with a dual major in Economics and Marketing. In 1992 Pamela earned her Juris Doctor from Chicago-Kent College of Law while working as a law clerk for the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, assistant to the General Counsel. After graduating law school Pamela was hired by Citibank, NA as a Community Reinvestment Associate directed at ensuring the bank's full compliance with federal regulations governing fair lending and community reinvestment. Pamela was charged with identifying the financial needs of low and moderate income families and then at developing products and services to address the needs identified. After being promoted to Citibank's Assistant Vice President of Compliance, Pamela worked with the legal department to ensure the bank's full compliance with all applicable state and federal banking regulations. Since leaving Citibank in 1995 Pamela has worked as a solo practitioner handling cases involving real estate, probate and family law. For the past fifteen years Pamela has also worked in a judicial capacity rendering hundreds, if not thousands, of decisions that affect the quality of life of Chicago's citizens as well as its surrounding suburbs. Currently, Pamela resided with her family in Chicago in a home that has been in her family for approximately 70 years. As such, Pamela has strong ties to Chicago's communities and understands the issues that we face. Working with Chicago's Alternative Policing (CAPS), CeaseFire West and West Town Homeowner’s Association Pamela is committed to improving the quality of life for all.
